Imagine what it was like for Petro, growing up in post-Soviet Ukraine. What do you do when the only people you know who go church are old, and all your friends are atheists and agnostics? Or imagine life for Rory, a university student in Scotland, having accumulated debt through spending his loan money on drinking and good times. What would it be like to wake up every morning, unsure about where you going, why you were here, and what the point is?
Through the efforts of CBU World Missions, Petro encountered Christ through a series of personal conversations about who Jesus is, what he has done, and how people can know God. In a similar way, Rory encountered the life changing message of Jesus at a church plant focused on reaching lost people with the gospel.
These are just two of the many stories in which God has graciously involved CBU world missions. From these two gospel seeds, multiple churches have been planted. This ministry is possible through the generous partnership of God’s people.
Before Jesus left planet earth, he told his followers: ‘Go and make disciples of all nations’ (Matthew 28:19). To answer the call of Jesus, CBU advances the gospel through church planting, leadership development, and humanitarian aid. We work with missionaries, church planters and pastors in gospel-resistant nations to introduce people to the love and truth found in Christ. We are able to do this through the CBU Global Partners.
Our ministry focus is in areas where Christianity has become marginalized; we work where churches are shrinking rather than growing, and gospel need is great. CBU Missionaries have served both gospel and humanitarian projects in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Currently we focus on projects not well-served by the global Christian community, such as church planting in Ukraine and Scotland, leadership development for pastors in Europe, and humanitarian aid in Nepal.
Gospel advance is a team sport. The CBU Global Partners enable gospel ministry around the world through consistent, ongoing financial support, you enable us to go, to plant, to equip, and to help. Several key projects are being funded through the CBU Global Partnership Program:
As Paul wrote to the Philippians, every gift you give is “a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God” (Philippians 4:18). Through the generous participation of the CBU Global Partners, God is touching lives with the gospel.
