Departure City: Newark, NJ
Day 1- Sunday, March 1, 2009 - Sit back and relax as you depart for Israel and begin the adventure of a lifetime. Dinner and breakfast included on our overnight transatlantic flight.
Day 2- Monday, March 2, 2009 - We will be greeted on our arrival in Tel-Aviv. After collecting our luggage we will be welcomed to the Holy Land by our guide and driver. The tour begins immediately with a stop in the old city of Joppa, where Peter had his vision on the rooftop of Simon the Tanner’s house. We will visit Caesarea-by-the Sea. This New Testament city was founded by Herod the great in 22 B.C. and was the headquarters for Pontius Pilate. We will continue north to Mt. Carmel, the sight of Elijah’s contest with the prophets of Baal. We will visit a monastery at the top with a breathtaking view of the Jezre’el plain and the valley of Armageddon. We will then continue on our way to our hotel. We will have a leisurely afternoon and will overnight in Tiberias, which is on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
Day 3- Tuesday, March 3, 2009 - Today we will visit Megiddo, a chariot city of Solomon, with ruins that date back to 3500 B.C. We will journey on to Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus, where we will visit the church of the Annunciation. We will also visit Cana, the place of Jesus’ first miracle. From there we will go to the Mt. of Beatitudes and Tabgha, where Jesus fed the 5000. Overnight in Tiberias.
Day 4- Wednesday, March 4, 2009 - We will start our day with a morning boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, where we will enjoy the rich scenery of the Galilee area. We will then visit Capernaum. After this we will drive to the Jordan River, where anyone who chooses may be baptized. Overnight Tiberias.
Day 5- Thursday, March 5, 2009 - Today we travel up into the Golan Heights and will see a bunker left over from the Six Day War. We will visit places where you will receive a deeper understanding of the positive Israeli / Lebanese relationship. We will go to the Hula Valley, view Mt. Hermon, and stop at the Dan Nature Reserve. We will visit Caesarea Philippi at the Southern Base of Mt. Hermon, where the Jordan River begins. This is the most northern point of Jesus’ journey, and the site where Peter confessed Jesus as “The Christ, the son of the living God.” Overnight Tiberias.
Day 6- Friday, March 6, 2009 - After Breakfast, we will depart Tiberias for an incredible day. We will begin by driving south through the Jordan Valley and stopping at Bet She’an. We will explore the magnificent Roman and Byzantine ruins of this ancient city. We will see the Mountains of Moab in Jordan, including Mt. Nebo, where Moses was buried. We will continue south, passing Jericho, the ancient Canaanite City. We will also view the Mt. of Temptation. We will arrive at our hotel by the Dead Sea, where we will enjoy a leisurely evening and spa facilities if desired. You will also have an opportunity to take a quick float in the healing water of the Dead Sea. Overnight Dead Sea.
Day 7- Saturday, March 7, 2009 - This morning we will ride a cable car to the top of Masada, Herod’s winter home. We will visit beautiful Ein Gedi, then Qumran, the Essene community where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We will visit Arad. We will arrive back at the hotel in the middle of the afternoon. Overnight Dead Sea.
Day 8- Sunday, March 8, 2009 - We will begin our ascent to Jerusalem, the city of our God. We will start with a view of the city from the Mt. of Olives and will take a group photo there. We will walk down to the Garden of Gethsemane, where 2000-year-old olive trees still grow. We will visit Caiphas’ House, ascend Mt. Zion, & see the pools of Bethesda. We will enjoy the memorable acoustical resonance of St. Anne’s Church. After dinner, there will be a special bonus outing. Overnight Jerusalem.
Day 9- Monday, March 9 , 2009 - We will begin our day with a visit to the temple Mount. We will experience the Jewish Quarter, and say a prayer for the peace of Jerusalem at the Wailing Wall. We will visit the Ophel Excavations. We will walk through the Old City on our way to the Antonio Fortress, where Jesus was mocked and beaten. We will walk the Via Dolorosa pondering the strength and love of Jesus as we make our way to the garden tomb. Here we will share in a meaningful communion service. After dinner, there will be an optional night of shopping. Overnight Jerusalem.
Day 10- Tuesday, March 10, 2009 - Today we will visit the Yad Vashem, the Jewish Holocaust memorial museum. We will visit Abu Ghosh (also identified as Kiriath Jearim), where the Ark of the Covenant was brought after Philistine captivity. From here will go to the Emmaus Road, where Jesus appeared after the Resurrection. We will visit Bethlehem and the Shepherds’ fields. Tonight we will have a Jerusalem Celebration, a night of praise and worship. Overnight Jerusalem.
Day 11- Wednesday, March 11, 2009 - Free day; buses will be available for shuttle to the Old City for further exploration. You may also visit the “House of Prayer” or the Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls may be viewed. You may walk the walls of Jerusalem. We must pack and prepare to leave this night. We will have a farewell dinner and then board the buses for the airport. We depart this night.
Day 12- Thursday, March 12, 2009 - Return Home

Extra: Any tour participant needing extra help such as an unscheduled trip to or from hotel will be responsible for any charges incurred.
Baggage: Every care will be taken by our representatives to ensure that your luggage is protected; however CBU Travel & Tours accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage to baggage or belongings. Travel Insurance is strongly encouraged; please refer to your Travel Insurance brochure for additional details regarding coverage for baggage.
Accommodations: Prices are based on double occupancy. Passengers will be accommodated in a double room with a private bath. Single rooms may be arranged at an additional cost and based on availability. If no roommate is specified but requested, we will assign roommates by gender on first come, first serve basis. However, if no roommate is available, single supplement payment is required.
Travel Insurance: CBU Travel & Tours STRONGLY recommends the purchase of travel insurance for travel accident, trip cancellation or interruption and damage to or loss of baggage.

Cancellation fees are assessed as listed:
Up to 60 days prior to departure $200
30-59 days prior to departure $525
15-29 days prior to departure $750
7-14 days prior to departure $1000
Less than 7 days prior to departure 50% of cost
Failure to cancel or no show 100% of cost
No refund for any unused portion of the tour once the tour has begun.
Note: Some airlines charge 50% and up for any changes or cancellations from the beginning. If these charges apply, the passenger is responsible for any such charges.
Many airlines require non-refundable deposits from the beginning. We will make every effort on your behalf to refund what is due you. However, if there are additional air or hotel cancellation charges, or other out-of-pocket expenses, these will be passed on to you.
Payment: A deposit of $500 per person is required to secure your reservation. Deposit is required with your initial registration. Final payment is due 35 days prior to departure. Airlines require CBU Tours to pay for tickets as a group prior to departure. Therefore, a penalty of $50 per person will be imposed for payments received after the deadline. Passengers joining the group after 30 days prior to the departure date will be accommodated based on space availability. Airline and hotel policies may cause the price to be higher for passengers joining the trip after the deadlines.
Cancellations: Cancellation notice must be received in writing and is only valid as of the day it is received.
Airline tickets: CBU Travel and Tours uses scheduled IATA carriers for flights. To minimize the cost to our passengers, we utilize non-refundable, non-exchangeable, non-changeable tickets. CBU cannot be held responsible for changes or delays in airline itinerary. Purchase of travel insurance is highly recommended.
Payment: A deposit of $500 per person is required along with a completed registration form and must be received by November 25, 2008 to secure your reservation. Final payment is due January 15, 2009. Documentation: A VALID Passport is required. Visas are not required for travel to Israel with a US passport.
Minimum Age: Requirement is 8 years or older for participation in this tour.
RESPONSIBILITY: CBU Travel & Tours and/or its agents and suppliers act only as agents for the passengers in all matters relating to the travel itinerary such as hotels, transportation, restaurants, and any other services and do not assume any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, death, loss, accident, or delay to person or property due to an act of negligence or of default of any hotel, carrier, restaurant company, or person rendering any of the services included in the tour, or by an act of God. Further, no responsibilities are accepted for any damage or delay, political unrest, act of violence, coercion, machinery breakdown, quarantine, government restraints, weather, or any causes beyond their personal control. No responsibility is accepted for any additional expense, commissions, delay, re-routing or acts of any government or authority. The airlines concerned are not responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not on board their planes or conveyance. The passenger contract in use by the airlines concerned when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airlines and purchaser of these tours and/or passenger. The prices listed in this brochure are based on the prices in effect at time of printing and are subject to government approval and may change without notice.
